Professional Standards (ProStands)

Committee

Overview

The Professional Standards (ProStands) Committee supports the Breeze pilot group by promoting high standards of conduct, resolving peer conflicts, and enhancing flight safety through non-disciplinary, confidential intervention.

The committee addresses interpersonal issues, reinforces professionalism, and serves as a buffer to prevent minor concerns from escalating into formal discipline.

In the event you experience an unpleasant or unresolved issue with a fellow crew member, we strongly encourage you to reach out to our Professional Standards Committee as your first step before involving management.

By fostering a respectful and accountable culture, the committee protects pilot careers, supports safety initiatives, and strengthens unity across the operation.

Safety and Professionalism go hand-in-hand.

If you experience an issue with a fellow crew member, we strongly encourage you to contact the Professional Standards Committee before escalating to management.

This confidential, peer-based program is designed to help resolve interpersonal conflicts constructively, maintaining crew unity and safety.

If you’re unable to resolve a situation directly, please reach out to Torrey.Hanson@alpa.org for guidance and support.

Thank you for helping us foster a respectful, professional, and safe environment for all.

Why Professional Standards?

Confidential

Speak freely with trained pilot peers.

Peer Support

Managed by fellow pilots who understand our work.

Safety First

Unresolved conflicts can impact coordination and performance.

Using the ALPA DART System to Contact Professional Standards

By using the DART system, you ensure your concern is handled quickly, discreetly, and by pilots who are dedicated to helping resolve issues peer-to-peer.

Throw a DART

The most effective way to reach Professional Standards is through the ALPA DART system. Submitting a PS DART is:

  • Confidential – only your contact information is included
  • Direct – your DART goes exclusively to Professional Standards committee members, not management.
  • Simple – all we need is your contact info so a committee member can follow up.
